The FLI team just came from the Annual Opuwo Trade Fair that took place form the 27th-31st May 2014. This expo saw the FLI introduce financial literacy to the exhibitors that were present at the expo. The event was also a great platform to prepare the region for the upcoming Kunene regional launch scheduled for September.
Good Morning Namibia/Business Today FLI on Social Media
Who has seen the FLI team on Good Morning Namibia / Business Today in the past months on NBC T.V.? The FLI colleagues have been going to the two T.V shows to talk about upcoming events, events happening within the FLI and also the different financial topics within the FLI. The FLI plans to use more of these platforms and others to bring the message of financial literacy to the people who need it.
Money- Wise on NBC National
Radio
Since our first episode in October last year, the FLI has aired 26 episodes of Money- Wise. The 30-minute program saw different experts from the financial industry tackle different financial topics weekly. The FLI team is truly grateful for its platform partners that availed their time twice a week to come to radio for the pre-recording and the live show. In total we have received 39 phone call received, 447 SMS entries just from the radio.

Financial Literacy Baseline Survey Launch 12th June 2014
The rate of Financial Literacy in Namibia stands at 42.75%, these findings were revealed at the recent launch of the Financial Literacy Baseline Survey Launch on the 12th of June 2014 at the Bank of Namibia. The first ever study to be done in Namibia has set the baseline of Financial Literacy rate in Namibia. This also marked a mile stone for the FLI in Namibia as this will guide FLI going forward. The same event also witnessed the official hand-over of the fully branded FLI car from the German government to the Ministry of Finance. The car will help the initiative with its regional launches and also other reach out activities that the initiative has.
